Woodland Birds at Meadowbrook Nature Preserve
Location: Meadowbrook Nature Preserve
Date: Saturday, May 5th, 2018
RSVP required- space is limited.
Join Jim Haniford to explore Meadowbrook Nature Preserve and look for late spring migrants. The preserve, which falls within the Valparaiso moraine, features woods, wetlands, streams, prairie pockets, and degraded agricultural land that is being reforested. This major restoration project will return the fields to a high quality forest that will provide critical habitat for nesting and migratory birds.
Jim is our volunteer Preserve Steward at Meadowbrook. He visits the preserve on a regular basis to monitor and maintain the trails, and report any problems or interesting observations. He also participates in citizen science/bird monitoring and with his help, we nearly have a full year’s worth of birding data up on ebird.com for Meadowbrook.
This is a free hike, but space is limited. Please RSVP to Katy at firstname.lastname@example.org or call the office at 219-242-8558
For more information please call us at 219-242-8558.
