Free Native Plant Garden Walk
Date: Saturday, July 20 11am-4pm
Location: 8743 Linden Ave, Munster IN
Join us for a free garden walk at the home of Karl Ackermann, a Bringing Nature Home awardee in 2018. His home garden is landscaped with more than 100 native flowers, grasses, sedges and shrubs; including prairie, wetland, shade and woodland species. Learn how native plants help wildlife, like birds, butterflies and other pollinators, while also cleaning the air and filtering stormwater, and discover ways to incorporate these species into your landscape without sacrificing aesthetics. Karl, President of the Wild Ones Chapter 38 of Gibson Woods, will be on hand to answer your questions, along with representatives from Shirley Heinze Land Trust and The Nature Conservancy.

Newgent Nature Preserve and one of the finest protected black-soil prairies in Indiana, Cressmoor Prairie State Nature Preserve.
