Donate Land
Check if your property qualifies for a donation
![]() Land donated should normally total at least 10 acres unless there is significant strategic value for the acquisition or the land would add to or buffer an existing protected or project area of Shirley Heinze Land Trust or another conservation organization. Read our Land Protection Policies and Acquisition Criteria for more information. Please keep in mind, your tax bill might represent the book value of the land, but it might not represent the fair market value. Please consult your tax advisor if you have questions about the value of your land and how donation will impact your taxes.
Selling your land to Nonprofit Conservation Organizations
Shirley Heinze Land Trust is a nonprofit organization with preserving natural lands and open spaces in mind.
By definition we do not make a profit on our operations and as a result, we do not have funds available to purchase your land at fair market value. We are a qualified conservation organization and can purchase at a bargain sale price. In order to purchase land for conservation, nonprofit conservation organizations must seek grants or fundraise to raise the necessary funds. Public and private grants are competitive and have limited resources, so they are generally only made available for the highest quality parcels of land. You can help Shirley Heinze Land Trust protect important land by making a donation today. Land Conservation Organizations are interested in:
