    Land Donation Information

Land donated should normally total at least 10 acres unless there is significant strategic value for the acquisition or the land would add to or buffer an existing protected or project area of Shirley Heinze Land Trust or another conservation organization. Read our Land Protection Policies and Acquisition Criteria for more information. Please keep in mind, your tax bill might represent the book value of the land, but it might not represent the fair market value. Please consult your tax adviser if you have questions about the value of your land and how this will impact your taxes.
Shirley Heinze Land Trust is geographically located in Northwest Indiana and covers Lake, Porter, and LaPorte counties. If you have land in another county, we can try to point in the direction of the associated organization.
There are 18 numbers in the parcel # Ex. 64-09-10-453-001.000-004 The Parcel # can be found on your tax bill. If you have more than one, please list all parcel #s and separate them with a comma ( , )
Found on your deed. If you have more than one, please list all legal descriptions and separate them with a comma ( , )
If this land can be accepted as a donation, 'county of residence' will be needed to create the Quitclaim deed. Filling this information in will potentially speed up the process.
This is the exact name of the second individual on the deed. If there is only one name on the deed, don't fill in this field.
