This 10-acre, second-growth mesic deciduous forest is situated on the Valparaiso Moraine, just inside the Southern Lake Michigan Watershed. The property provides important habitat for wildlife, and it features black walnuts, a variety of oak trees, and a good display of spring ephemeral wildflowers.

From US 30 in Porter County, west of Valparaiso, take county road 600 W south for 2 miles to county road 50 N. Turn right onto county road 50 N and drive about 1/2 mile. Park on the right side of the road, next to the access lane marked by SHLT signs. Cross the ditch and walk north along the access lane to the preserve.
