This mixed forest community is a dedicated state nature preserve. A rare urban example of old-growth forest, it features White Pine, Red Oak, White Oak, Sugar Maple, Red Maple, Witch Hazel, Partridge Berry, and Wintergreen.

I-94 to US 421 (exit 34A). North on US 421, past US 20 to Barker Road (not Barker Avenue). There is a Jewel on the NW corner of the intersection. Turn right (east) onto Barker Road and proceed to stop sign. After stop sign, take first left into gravel driveway, #444. Follow signs to trail and parking.
