Ferns Identification Workshop
July 22-23, 2011
In Northwest Indiana, ferns run the gamut from tiny, delicate, lacy beauties to prehistoric-looking
giants that are 4 feet tall. Many of us struggle to identify our local ferns, and this workshop
is designed to help. Join botanist Keith Board for a detailed look at the structure, beauty,
and reproductive systems of ferns and an opportunity to gain experience in fern identification.
This two-session event features an evening class followed by a morning hike, both at Indiana Dunes
State Park. The hike portion will be slow-paced, on a level trail, and covering a relatively short
distance.
