Come dine by the "Moonlight in Duneland" on June 26, 2010 when Shirley Heinze Land Trust holds its 7th annual summer benefit celebration. Individual tickets are $95 this year. Make your reservations promptly after you receive your invitation. A record 310 supporters were in attendance last year, and tables filled up quickly. You won’t want to miss an enchanting evening this year at The Waterbird Lakeside Inn and Banquet Center in Chesterton. Geoffrey Baer, Producer and Program Host of WTTW Channel 11 will serve as the Master of Ceremonies this year. He is an Emmy Award-winning documentarian and historian of the Chicagoland area including Northwest Indiana.

Moonlight in Duneland ~ Enjoy a sophisticated yet soothing evening at the Waterbird in Chesterton which features lakeside dining overlooking Lake Chubb. As for attire, come dressed to dazzle in the moonlight or wear your casual yet summer evening attire.

Lakeside Dining ~ The evening will begin with an elegant champagne reception featuring butler passed hors d’ oeuvres on the scenic deck overlooking Lake Chubb. The first course will feature a spring spinach leaf salad with Boursin cheese, dried apricots, walnuts, and an Apricot Vinaigrette. The main entrée will be Tenderloin of Beef medallions paired with crimini mushroom bordelaise sauce by Chef Mark Kolasa of WaterBird. Finally, you won’t want to miss a slice of heaven when the white chocolate raspberry cake is served for dessert.

Enchanting Entertainment ~ Soothing orchestral music will be provided by local guitarist and harpist "Silver Rain" during the champagne reception and dinner hour.

Auction Attractions ~ Be ready to bid on an assortment of fine artwork by local artists, visual and performing arts tickets and memberships and fine wine and dining packages. Our live auction will feature one-of-a-kind local and national getaway packages this year. Get ready to bid on outdoor adventures and tours including a pontoon boat cruise with dinner, a sailboat cruise and a kayaking and canoeing adventure.

Individual tickets are $95 this year with $65 of that amount tax deductible. Individual and corporate sponsors can reserve a table for $1,000. Additional sponsorship levels are listed below. Send in the form to promptly ensure your reservation.

Our annual summer benefit offers the Heinze Trust’s friends and supporters a special celebration of our accomplishments over the past year. It also offers the opportunity to learn more about the organization and its important work in Northwest Indiana.
